Contributor terms
These apply to opinion pieces you write and submit as a Lens contributor.
What you pay for
Your subscription lets you submit up to 4 pieces a month. Lens editors decide what's published; payment doesn't guarantee publication. Drafts are unlimited. A piece sent back to you for changes doesn't count again when you resubmit it.
Editing
Our editors may ask for changes, or edit for length, clarity, accuracy and our rules. If we edit your text, you see every change and nothing is published under your name until you accept the final version. You can withdraw a piece any time before it's published.
Your words, your responsibility
- The piece must be your own work, and you must have the right to everything in it.
- You're responsible for its accuracy. Where you state facts, link to sources if you can.
- The community rules apply: no threats, slurs, harassment, private details, spam or sexual content.
- Published pieces are labeled as a reader's opinion, under your display name. They aren't AI-generated and aren't Lens's view.
License
You keep the copyright. By submitting, you give Lens a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, edit as described above, display, share and promote the piece on Lens and its feeds, newsletter and social accounts. We may remove a published piece, for example after a correction or a credible complaint.
Payment and cancelling
Plans renew monthly through Stripe until you cancel from your account page. Cancelling keeps your plan until the end of the month you paid for. A rejected piece isn't grounds for a refund, since the subscription pays for the chance to submit, not for publication.
